Auroral Activity Site
Permalink |OMG, a weather site that I’ve never seen. I found this one over on Doc Searls “blog”:2.
So, if you are heading up to the Great White North, you might want to check this “site”:1 for the current auroral activity. The range is from 1 (low activity) to 10 (high). Here’s today’s summary map which rates a “7.”

The map won’t do you much good heading to the Great White North after the Spring Equinox because it will be light too much of the time. In most of Canada and all of Alaska, it barely gets dark at all, even a month away from the Summer Solstice.
In this time of year, however, watch for Auroras from the southern reaches of Chile, Argentina, New Zeeland and even Australia. Plus, of course, Antarctica.

Doc,
Ahhh… good note regarding the daylight hours up north. I guess I’ll have to trade in my tickets to Nome for ones to Antarctica!
BTW, it sounds like you might be back again on the Gillmor Gang podcast. Hope so… loved hearing you all chat about tech.
